Parish Church Herbicide Programme
In September 2016 Knotweed Eradication were approached by a local Parish Church with regards to controlling an outbreak of Japanese Knotweed within the grave yard. As the area was not set for any further disturbance works and due to a very limited budget targeted herbicide application was undertaken in October 2016 to bring the infestation under control without killing off surrounding vegetation. Monitoring of the area will be undertaken by the client with further applications to be called off as required.
Canal Bank Herbicide Programme
As part of a 50Ha remediation strategy of a former colliery site Knotweed Eradication were requested to undertake herbicide application to areas of knotweed present along the banks of the adjacent canal. Monitoring and treatment were undertaken over a three year period prior to the commencement of a 5 year warranty
River Irwell Manchester – Herbicide Treatment
Herbicide treatment of Japanese Knotweed along sections of the River Irwell through Manchester. Treatments have been carried out over a three year period to include stem clearance and removal of treated knotweed material from site to a licensed landfill facility.
Chadderton CuTex Installation
Following the excavation of an area of Japanese Knotweed from within the construction area a vertical root barrier, consisting of CuTex geomembrane, was installed along the development boundary to prevent further knotweed encroaching from the adjacent retained landscaping. Ongoing monitoring for regrowth in the adjacent landscaping will be undertaken for a three year period following which a 5 year warranty period will be implemented.
